It's Monday! What Are you Reading? (29-10-'10)

undefinedIt’s Monday! What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. This event is hosted by Sheila of Book Journey.
My last read reads are 2 books by my favorite Indonesian authors.

The first is Padang Bulan, in English: Field of Moon

The Field of Moon tells the journey of life of 2 people, a woman named Maryamah who used to be called as Enong and Ikal (a nickname that represent Andrea himself). Enong had to face a tragic life since childhood. Her dream was to be able to speak English fluently, but the faith brought her into differ ent path. She came from a poor family, her father saved up some money to buy her an English dictionary. She was thrilled when she received it and treasured it more than people treasured their gold. Not long after that day, her father passed away, leaving her with her mother and her 3 sisters. Continue reading

Compare to Field of Moon, I like this one much better. Love Inside Glass talks more about Maryamah’s struggle to beat his ex-husband in a chess match and how Ikal learned human psychology through glasses of coffee. I enjoy reading every page of this book, the struggle and the humor are mixed in a very good way.

Ikal who had graduated from Sorbonne University decided to work in a coffee shop owned by his uncle. Belitong’s coffee shop is more like traditional cafĂ©, people came to the shop, drank glasses of coffee, talked with everyone in the shop and when their hearts were content, they went home. Here in Indonesia, most people drink coffee in a glass not a cup. Ikal found love inside those glasses, the kind of love that was not the same as lover’s love, it’s a more general kind of love. Continue Reading.

Right now,I'm rereading The Lord of The Rings - The Two Towers for the 4th time. The reason is quite simple, because I haven't written my review of the book yet and I miss Pippin. I'm planning to reread The Lord of The Rings, 1 book a year.I love this book so much and my blog without review of The Lord of The Rings feels so empty :)

BTT - Borrowing

Who would you rather borrow from? Your library? Or a Friend?

(Or don’t your friends trust you to return their books?)

And, DO you return books you borrow?

Interesting question!!

I like borrowing from both from Library and my friends.

the library is where i borrow my Japanese Literature because my Library is from Japan Foundation.
Some of my friends have the same taste of book as I am, so I often borrowed from them. It's a two way act, i borrow from them, they borrow from me.

Always return the books I've borrowed and take care of them like their are mine because i expect them to do the same. I treasure my book and I want them to take care of my book too.

How bout you? Happy BTT :)

This is my 1st time joining in this meme.

I read 3 books this week, 2 manga and 2 novels.

the 1st one I read is a manga by Kyoko Hikawa. This manga has been translated into Indonesian Language but I wrote my reiew in English.

It's a romance manga which I don't usually read. this one is an exception.

My review is here

I change the title into English: The Wind of Fall.

I first read this manga long time ago, I have re-read it so many times.

Then I read a book from a new to me author b the name of Lensey Namioka. the story is really interesting but the book is too thin to elaborate the story.

My review is here

I have just finish a super thick book...well at least for me it's a super thick book. I have finished Under The Dome by Stephen King. I love it so much. It's a word breaking record in reading speed for me.

I think I might read something by my favorite Indonesian writer, Andrea Hirata. But I'm still not 100% sure yet :) .. will see it later.

Meet Me On Monday

I found this interesting Meme from SenoraG of Reading, Reading & Life. This meme is hosted by Java @ Never Growing Old

There are 5 questions to be answered and all of them are enjoyable questions :)

1. Have you ever been on a cruise?
Nope never...too expensive for me.

2. What is your favorite way to eat egg?
Scrambled with extra chilli

3. What is your favorite reading material
I like reading both Novel and Manga. Novel makes my brain works harder to imagine every scenes in that boook. Manga doesn't force me to imagine anything but the story is always great to read.

4. Name all the pets that you have ever had?
My whole life, I only have 3 pets. A cat for about 3 months named Lupus. And 2 turtles who are still living with me, I love them so much, they are Kame and Kroten.
Kame is turtle in Japanese and Kroten is a short version of Schildkroten which also mean turtle in German.
They have their own blog called Kame & Kroten's Blog

5. Have you ever been a girl scout?
All Indonesia elementary students have to be a girl/boy scout...so I have my share at that time.

I will fix this post later so that it'll look nicer...but for now, I'll be fine with this.

This is a blog hop and hoping I will meet another great bloggers :)
